Who is your teacher? Who can you learn from? Can there be teachers other than school or college teachers?
Can you also learn a thing or two from any or all of the following:
Nature- trees, plants, animals, rivers, birds, insects and the like?
Children
Parents
Friends, Pets
Life events like birth, ill-health, bereavement
Successes and failures
Covid pandemic?
Sports and extra-curricular activities?
The answer to all of the above is yes! Like the Brahma Kamal flower which blooms at night once in many months, synchronised with the full moon! Teaches us to be punctual in life!
On this Teacher's Day, let us thank all the teachers in our life. Teachers have made us what we are today. Our gratitude to each one of them.
Ghumakkad is grateful to all his teachers at:
Besant College, Varanasi
Birla School Pilani
BITS Pilani
IIT Kanpur
Naval PG School California
Students too deserve our thanks. Because students are like oxygen for the teachers!
We also owe our gratitude to teachers-other-than-teachers. We have learnt a thing or two from such teachers as summarised below:

DeleteAs always, you are a great teacher, Sir. I’ll miss my teachers, but I miss many more because I had blind trust in them. After all, only teachers and Parents ensure their wards achieve much more than them.
ReplyDeleteWell said Vicky. Thanks.
DeleteOn Teachers'Day, I express my gratitude for having been granted the privilege of being a teacher. It's a journey filled with amazing inspiring moments with my incredible students.
ReplyDeleteThey give me so much more than I give them.
🙏
Absolutely. As teachers we learn more from our students. Hope you read our story 'Learning from Students' linked above. Thanks.
DeleteTr. is the new prefix for a teacher & most appropriate.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dr Sethi, a great teacher himself.
DeleteGratitude to all the teachers from wherever we get "gyan" Manoj Srivastava
ReplyDeleteThanks Manoj for echoing our thoughts.
DeleteSir, someone suggested a salutation Tr. for Teacher as in Dr. for Doctor. I think they deserve it to be used preceding their names.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suresh
