Every year during Ganesh Pooja, environment groups cry hoarse about the polluting effects of POP idols and lead paints in the city's water bodies. Many municipal corporations distribute clay Ganeshas. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has actually walked the talk by installing portable immersion tanks for clay idols.
The other day while returning from morning golf, I noticed a new structure filled with water near a local bus stand. Curious to know, I pulled up on a side and got down from the car. And what I saw was truly amazing. A water tank installed overnight for immersion of only clay idols up to three-feet tall. Took out my phone and shot few pictures.
