Ghar E Mubarak Hill Top Shrine

Our last KBG Contest quizzed you on a hill top shrine.

Most readers identified the city correctly i.e. Hyderabad. But none of them could name the structure correctly. Except for one reader, a teacher, all of them confused it with Maula Ali, another hill top shrine. Responses for Maula Ali came from Hyderabadis as well as non-Hyderabadis located across the globe. So the correct answer is Ghar-e-Mubarak in Hyderabad.

It is a dargah close to Taramati Baradari located south west of Hyderabad. More about the shrine in another story of a hike to the hill.

The Contest picture with clues are reproduced below for quick reference.

Readers may browse our earlier story of a hike to Maula Ali and see the difference in the two structures and its surroundings. Maula Ali has five kamans gates. See the pictures below.

Winner

KBG-49 has a sole winner. Congratulations to Dr Ranjana Pandey. An MBBS, she has worked as CEO in Fortis Hospital and CAO in Tarini Cancer Institute and Research Center. Ranjana switched from one noble profession to another six years back and is now an educationist. Spouse of an Army Officer, she is adventurous by nature and loves trekking and cycling.

This is the last edition of Kaun Banega Ghumakkad contest for the year 2020. We will wind up the Covid dominated year with another post soon. As we close the year 2020, Ghumakkad thanks all the readers and participants of KBG contests. Your support took the contest to 49 editions in two years! In 2021 we will bring a summary when we run the 50th contest!
