Nature's Clock

Nature's clock is so well synchronised.
Season after season, year after year.
Seasons arrive on schedule. If it doesn't, then we have calamities like draught, extreme cold weather etc.
Each season has it's role and importance.

Summer: We may not like heat. But how will mangoes ripen otherwise? Or, how will snow melt to feed our rivers?
Fall: When the trees shed their leaves. We should learn to shed our anger and other bad habits!
Monsoon: In countries like India, monsoon plays a significant role not only for agriculture but also for recharging the water sources like lakes, ponds and wells. Jamun is one fruit synonymous with the monsoons in India.
Autumn: Neither hot nor cold. Pleasant time of the year. Early snowfall in the foothills. Fruits like apples and custard apple are ready.
Winter: Brrr! Heavy snow in the mountains. You can go skiing and glisading! In the plains, time for grapes and pomegranates. Mango starts flowering. Trees dry up.
Spring: Time for new leaves. New life. From under the snow! Nesting time for birds. Mango fruits take shape on the trees.

See the chart depicting the seasons in India.

The inspiration for this story came from on-dot arrival of custard apples in our garden in Secunderabad India. A fortnight before Diwali, the fruits start to ripen. Diwali dates vary every year, but Nature's synchronisation clock doesn't change. Something like the geo-synchronous satellites! Always maintain its position.

This year we had a better crop. Pictures for you.
