Can वेद Vedas - the ancient body of knowledge- attract tourists?

Is there a monument or a park dedicated to promote Vedic Science?

Vedas and science- how does it sync?

Well, we are no authority on Vedas or vedic science. But we recently visited a Park dedicated to promote vedic sciences. Readers may refer Govt of India website to read up about Vedic Heritage.

Set up on a 40 acre sprawling hill side on right bank of river Aasan near Solan Shimla, it is a unique monument. It is located 80 kms northeast of Chandigarh and takes 2-1/2 hours by car in a hilly road. See the map below.

Created by Brig Kapil Mohan of famed Mohan Meakin Breweries, it was inaugurated by then PM of India in 2002. Mohan Shakti National Heritage Park, that's the full name, attracts close to 15 lakh visitors every year. The monument is made of sculpted stones of various hardness such as the red sandstone, marble, granite and so on. The main entrance of the imposing building adorns the seven-horse chariot of the Sun God. The monument shows the importance of various trees and seasons for mankind's existence. Here are a few pictures of the Heritage Park which harnesses solar power. Other than a small cafe, there are no shops. A place well maintained without noise and pollution.

Chail Military School

Chail is a remote hill station in Himachal Pradesh.
Apart from The Palace, what else is there to see?
Well, in the hills you don't need places to see. You have to feel the forest, walk in the woods, smell the scent of the pines and relax by the river side! You do all that and you get rejuvenated.
However, Chail also has the highest cricket ground in the world. It is now used as cricket stadium-cum-playground for the students of Rashtriya Military School, Chail. In this story, we take you to the school, the cricket stadium and Sadhupul- a small village downhill. We the Navy Veterans sure felt great getting back to school!

These words 'heaven on earth' for Chail Military School were written by Commander Sudhir Tuli (Retd) who is an alumnus of the school. Thanks much Sudhir for your inputs.

Being a Navy Veteran, it was heartening to see a Naval Officer's name too! See the green arrow in the picture below.

Fallen but not forgotten! The school has proudly displayed the bust of one of its alumni who was conferred with the highest gallantry award the Param Vir Chakra. Capt GS Salaria made the supreme sacrifice and laid down his life in 1961.
